Third-stage piston ring

Main functions

Seals clearance gap between piston and cylinder‑liner inner‑wall, preventing high‑pressure‑hydrogen leakage from compression‑chamber into crankcase and maintaining third‑stage compression pressure and gas‑delivery capacity. It scrapes trace lubricating‑oil off cylinder‑liner surface, reduces oil carry‑over of hydrogen medium and assists piston heat dissipation.

Structural materials

‑ Split open‑ring profile; ring‑gap provides allowance for thermal‑expansion.

‑ For high‑pressure‑hydrogen service: self‑lubricating filled‑PTFE composite; wear‑resistant, hydrogen‑embrittlement‑resistant, capable of sustaining high‑pressure alternating‑loads. Multiple‑rings are generally used in stacked‑combination layout.
