Second-stage piston rings

Main functions

Seals the clearance gap between piston and cylinder‑liner inner wall, preventing high‑pressure‑hydrogen leakage from compression chamber towards crankcase, securing second‑stage compression pressure and gas‑delivery capacity. It scrapes trace lubricating‑oil deposits off cylinder‑liner surface, reduces oil carry‑over within hydrogen stream and assists piston heat dissipation.

Structural materials

‑ Split open‑ring profile; reserved ring‑gap compensates thermal expansion.

‑ For high‑pressure hydrogen service: self‑lubricating filled‑PTFE composite material; wear‑resistant and hydrogen‑embrittlement‑resistant, suitable for high‑pressure alternating‑load service. Usually multiple rings are stacked in combined arrangement.
