Second-Stage Intake and Exhaust Valve Plate

Description: The second-stage intake and exhaust valve plate is a key moving wear-prone part of the second-stage cylinder of a reciprocating natural gas compressor. It is installed inside the second-stage gas valve and opens and closes under the pressure differential, controlling the intake, compression, and exhaust cycles of the second-stage cylinder.

Main Functions

It opens and closes automatically under the pressure differential between the inside and outside of the cylinder; during the intake stroke it opens to draw in gas, and during the exhaust stroke it opens to discharge the compressed high-pressure natural gas.

When the valve plate is closed, it blocks gas backflow and prevents the high-pressure gas in the second-stage cylinder from flowing back, ensuring the compression pressure of the second-stage cylinder and the gas delivery volume of the whole unit.

Together with the valve seat, spring, and lift limiter, it controls the gas flow to enable continuous operation of the compressor.

Structural Material

Thin sheet structure, commonly annular or disc-shaped; high-strength alloy steel is used for high-pressure natural gas conditions, being impact resistant, fatigue resistant, and resistant to oil and gas corrosion; the sealing face of the valve plate fits against the valve seat, and the opening lift is controlled by the spring.
