Description: The second-stage guide ring of a natural gas compressor is a wear-prone part of the reciprocating compressor piston assembly. It is assembled on the second-stage piston and reciprocates in the cylinder; it withstands the second-stage cylinder conditions and provides radial support and guidance for the piston.
It supports the radial load of the piston, prevents the piston from directly contacting and rubbing against the cylinder liner, and avoids scratching the inner bore of the cylinder liner.
It ensures the coaxiality of the piston reciprocating motion, controls the piston radial clearance, improves the stress state of the piston rings, and reduces piston ring wear.
It does not perform the main gas sealing function but only provides guidance and support, reducing wear on the cylinder liner and piston and ensuring stable operation of the unit.
One-piece open sleeve-type ring, with an opening to compensate for thermal expansion; filled PTFE and modified engineering plastics are commonly used for natural gas compression conditions, with self-lubricating and wear-resistant properties, and are suitable for high-pressure gas media containing a small amount of lubricating oil; it is installed in the piston guide ring groove, mostly in single-row or double-row arrangement.
