Pump Casing Gasket

Description: The pump casing gasket is a static sealing element between the pump body and the pump cover. Clamped at the pump-casing flange face, it prevents the conveyed medium from leaking outward at the casing joint and stops air from entering the pump body during negative-pressure operation.

Main Functions

Fill the gap between pump-body and pump-cover mating faces, compensate minor face deformation, and achieve casing sealing.

Isolate the pressurized medium in the pump chamber to prevent overflow; under negative pressure, block air ingress that would cause cavitation or loss of prime.

Withstand medium, temperature, and pressure, isolating the medium to protect the flange metal face.

Structural Materials

Depending on duty, PTFE gaskets, flexible graphite gaskets, rubber gaskets, or composite gaskets may be used; PTFE pumps generally adopt PTFE gaskets for corrosion resistance.
