Pump flexible sleeve pin coupling

Pump flexible sleeve pin coupling

Description: Elastic sleeve pin couplings are a type of flexible coupling. They rely on rubber elastic sleeves for buffering and vibration reduction, and can compensate for small radial, axial, and angular misalignments. They are the most widely used couplings in centrifugal pump units.

Materials

1. Half-coupling body: HT200 gray cast iron for general working conditions; 45# steel for heavy loads and higher speeds.

304 stainless steel for corrosive conditions.

Pin: 45# carbon steel.

3. Elastic sleeve: natural rubber/synthetic rubber, providing cushioning and shock absorption.

4. Washer baffle: ordinary carbon steel, stainless steel for corrosion-resistant environments. It consists of two half-couplings, a pin, a rubber elastic sleeve, and a retaining-ring/thrust washer.

The pin passes through one half-coupling is fitted with the rubber elastic sleeve and then inserted into the hole of the other half-coupling.

Torque is transmitted through the pin and rubber sleeve which absorbs vibration and compensates for minor installation misalignments between the two shafts.

Classifications

1. LT type (formerly HL type) flexible sleeve pin coupling: standard universal type most commonly used in the pump industry.

LTT type flexible sleeve pin coupling with brake wheel: one side integrates a brake wheel, for pump units with brake motors.

The rubber sleeve is a consumable part and needs to be replaced regularly after it wears out during operation.

Specifications Based on the nominal shaft diameter, pumps commonly use shaft diameters of φ16~φ85mm; the power of the pumps they are for ranges from several kilowatts to over one hundred kilowatts.

And the speed generally does not exceed 3800r/min.

Scenarios for: centrifugal pumps pipeline pumps circulating pumps sewage pumps and horizontal process pumps in general working conditions with vibration.

Frequent start-stop cycles and minor alignment errors during installation. used in water supply and drainage, HVAC circulating water, water treatment, and general chemical pumps.

Not for: high-temperature conditions (rubber is prone to aging) large-angle deviation severe impact high-power high-speed pumps.

Pumps for high-temperature media should not be selected. Points of 1. Rubber elastic sleeves are consumable parts.

Replace them promptly if cracking or deformation occurs. A small amount of alignment deviation is permissible, but it must not exceed the standard.

Excessive deviation will accelerate the rapid damage of the elastic sleeve. High ambient temperature will shorten the service life of the rubber sleeve.
