Description: The agitator shaft sleeve is a protective bushing for the agitator shaft. Fitted over the agitator shaft, it is the mating friction component of the double mechanical seal. Used in sorbitol hydrogenation reactors, it isolates the sugar solution and hydrogen medium, protects the agitator shaft, and ensures correct mechanical-seal operation.
Protect the agitator shaft: prevent direct corrosion by the medium and wear from the mechanical seal; the sleeve is a consumable—if damaged, only the sleeve is replaced, not the costly agitator shaft.
Mechanical-seal mating surface: as the assembly base of the mechanical-seal rotating ring, the sleeve outer diameter is the running face of the seal pair, ensuring proper face contact.
Medium isolation: blocks sorbitol sugar solution and crystallized material from contacting the agitator shaft body, preventing shaft corrosion; together with the double seal it reduces material entering the seal chamber.
The cylindrical sleeve uses an O-ring for static sealing against the agitator shaft and has an anti-rotation feature. Common sorbitol-hydrogenation materials: 316L stainless steel, silicon carbide, and PTFE-filled compounds; food grade, resisting weak-alkali sugar-solution corrosion and rated for the temperature/pressure of the hydrogenation environment.
