Description: Rotary drum (vacuum filter drum / filter drum) is the core rotating component of vacuum drum filters used in corn gluten concentration dehydration; among the most critical main spare parts of dehydration equipment. It is a horizontally oriented cylindrical stainless steel shell covered with filter cloth, partially immersed inside feed trough and rotating slowly driven by main shaft. Drum interior is axially partitioned into multiple independent sector shaped vacuum compartments connected to vacuum system via end face distribution heads. Under vacuum suction effect, slurry moisture is drawn through filter cloth, gluten particles deposit as filter cake upon drum outer surface; completing continuous workflow of adsorption, dehydration and cake discharge.
Rotary drum shell: Cylindrical stainless steel vessel axially divided into multiple independent sector shaped vacuum compartments.
Filter cloth/filter screen: Filtration media covering drum outer surface; element for solid liquid separation. End face distribution head: Rotary distribution valve mounted at drum end face.
Sequentially switches individual compartments between vacuum adsorption, washing, dewatering and cake discharge stations.
Support journals: Solid shaft ends supported by bearings, transmitting rotary drive torque for drum rotation. Drive sprocket/gear set: End mounted transmission hardware.
Couples with geared motor to drive low speed drum rotation.
Agitating assembly: Oscillating agitator fitted inside feed trough to stop gluten sedimentation and material build up.
Discharge scraper: Mounted adjacent to drum outer surface; peels off dehydrated filter cake. Principle Operates on vacuum negative pressure suction filtration plus rotary continuous filtration principle:1. Slurry adsorption: Lower drum section immerses within gluten slurry.
Corresponding filter compartment connects to vacuum source. Moisture is sucked through filter cloth and gluten particles form filter cake layer on cloth surface.
Dewatering & drying: Drum continues rotating; filter cake exits slurry bath and further dewaters under sustained vacuum suction to remove residual moisture.
Optional washing stage: Washing water is sprayed onto filter cake for further removal of soluble impurities.
Cake discharge: Drum rotates to unloading zone; respective compartment switches to back pulse compressed air supply.
Filter cake is loosened by air impulse and scraped off for discharge. Filter cloth regeneration: Post discharge filter cloth is rinsed and cleaned before entering next processing cycle.
Continuous drum rotation delivers non stop dewatering operation.has Continuous dewatering workflow: Drum rotates persistently.
Feeding, filtration and discharging execute fully automated without interruption. Reliable dehydration performance: Combined vacuum suction and filter cake layer dewatering, controllable gluten cake moisture.
Food grade construction: 304 stainless steel drum shell, corrosion resistant and easy to clean. Large production throughput: High filtration area capacity for large scale industrial grade production lines.
High degree of automation: Adjustable rotary speed, controllable vacuum set points; convenient operation and management.
Stable operation: Low speed rotation delivers smooth running behaviour with minimal maintenance workload.
