Description: The screw press auger (also referred to as pressing auger / auger blade shaft) is the core rotating assembly of screw press dehydrators for corn gluten concentration dehydration workflows, and one of the most critical wear prone spare parts for dehydration equipment. Mounted inside dehydrator screen cylinder and driven by motor gear reducer unit. The auger with progressively decreasing pitch conveys gluten material forward while building gradually rising compressive force to squeeze water out through screen cylinder gaps, achieving mechanical dehydration of gluten slurry.
Central main shaft: High strength stainless steel shaft; bearing seats and drive connection interfaces provided at both shaft ends for torque transmission.
Helical auger blades: Continuously welded onto central shaft; responsible for material conveyance and water extrusion.
Variable pitch configuration: Larger pitch at feed end for loose material intake; reduced pitch at discharge end to build progressive compression.
Blade working surface: Polished finish or applied wear resistant overlay to minimise material adhesion and abrasive wear.
Shaft end connections: Input end couples with gear reducer; output end fitted with bearing support assembly.
Discharge cone throttling valve: Adjustable cone assembly at discharge end to set discharge resistance and control dehydration pressure.
Achieves gluten dehydration through progressive volumetric compression principle:
1. Feeding & conveyance: Concentrated gluten slurry enters via feed inlet; auger blades propel material forward inside screen cylinder.
2. Progressive pressure build up: Reducing auger pitch shrinks effective volume between helical blades and screen cylinder, gradually raising compressive load acting upon material.
3. Extrusion dehydration: Under high compressive pressure, water contained within gluten is squeezed out and flows through screen cylinder slot openings as recirculatable filtrate.
4. Material discharge: Dehydrated gluten (moisture reduced to approx. 60%) discharges from outlet and proceeds to subsequent drying workflow.
5. Continuous operation: Auger maintains constant rotation enabling uninterrupted feeding, extrusion dehydration and material discharge.
Superior dehydration efficiency: Variable pitch design delivers progressively rising extrusion pressure for stable dehydration results.
Food grade material: 304 / 316L stainless steel construction, corrosion resistant and easy to clean, complying with food hygiene requirements.
Wear resistant durable build: Blade surfaces can be overlaid with wear resistant alloy or precision polished for extended service life.
Continuous uniform conveyance: Stable auger transport without material pulsation; large process throughput capacity.
Compact layout: Auger assembly fits compactly within screen cylinder, reducing overall equipment footprint.
Service friendly maintenance: Auger cartridge can be extracted from housing for convenient inspection and part replacement.
