Rotary Airlock Valve

Description: Also named rotary airlock / rotary discharge valve / star shaped discharger / rotary feeder. Key equipment delivering continuous discharging and airlock sealing for cornstarch pneumatic conveying lines; high frequency replacement core spare. Normally installed under cyclone separator bottoms, bag filter hoppers or silo discharge nozzles. It continuously discharges falling starch powder while sealing pressure differential between upstream and downstream to prevent air ingress and preserve system pressure stability.

Select Product

Housing body: Cylindrical stainless steel shell, square/circular flange ports on top and bottom for equipment interconnection.

Rotor impeller: Core rotating assembly fitted with 6–8 blades; blade tips can be embedded with wear resistant sealing strips (PTFE/polyurethane).

End covers & bearings: Side endcovers support rotating shaft; sealed bearings stop dust ingress into bearing cavities.

Drive assembly: Motor reducer unit (direct coupled or chain drive) delivering low speed rotor torque.

Shaft end sealing: Air seal/oil seal construction to block starch leakage along shaft journal. Inspection/service port: Side mounted access door for visual check and cleaning.

Principle

1. Filling: Raw material drops by gravity from top inlet and fills cavities between rotor blades.

Rotary conveying: Motor reducer drives rotor for steady rotation; material is carried from upper zone downwards.

Discharging: When blade cavity aligns with bottom discharge opening, material is discharged by gravity.

Airlock sealing: Very narrow clearance (0.15–0.25mm) between rotor blades and housing wall blocks airflow passage while discharging.

Stopping high pressure air backflow into upstream silo. has Superior airlock performance: Precise rotor housing fit inhibits air leakage and sustains stable system pressure.

Continuous uniform discharge: Volumetric metered feeding delivers even material flow.

Food grade material: 304/316 stainless steel housing, polished inner surfaces for food hygiene compliance. Anticaking self cleaning option: Dual rotor or anti stick coating variants available for sticky starch grades to minimise material adhesion.

Modular service friendly build: Blade seals, bearings and sealing consumables are easily replaceable.

Compact footprint: Small dimensions, flexible installation layout.
