Cyclone Separator (Cyclone Unloader)

Description: Core gas solid separation equipment for cornstarch pneumatic conveying systems, key unloading device located at conveying system terminal. It utilises centrifugal force principle to separate starch powder from transport airflow for collection. Dust laden exhaust gas proceeds to downstream baghouse filter for further purification.

Inlet: Tangential rectangular or circular port for dust laden air entry, inducing high speed rotary airflow.

Cylinder: Upper cylindrical zone, primary airflow separation section.

Cone: Lower conical segment; airflow accelerates during contraction for enhanced particle sedimentation.

Vortex finder: Central top inserted exhaust duct for purified gas discharge.

Discharge outlet: Conical bottom port, connects to rotary airlock valve for airlock locked discharging. Inspection/cleaning access: Sidewall opening for accumulated material clearance and internal inspection.

Flange connections: Modular flange joints facilitate disassembly, maintenance and liner replacement. Principle

1. Tangential entry: High velocity starch laden airflow enters upper cylinder tangentially.

Outer vortex rotation: Airflow spirals downwards along cylinder inner wall (outer vortex); starch particles are thrown onto wall surface under centrifugal force.

Wall surface sedimentation: Particles lose kinetic energy upon wall impact and slide down cone wall under gravity and airflow drag.

Inner vortex ascent: Airflow reverses direction at cone bottom to form upward moving inner vortex and exits via vortex finder.

Airlock discharge: Separated starch collects at bottom and is continuously discharged through rotary airlock valve.

Meanwhile stop air ingress that would disrupt system pressure balance.has High separation efficiency: 85–95 % separation efficiency for fine cornstarch particles.

No moving internals: Minimal maintenance workload, high operational reliability.

Food grade material: 304/316 stainless steel construction with polished inner surfaces complying with food hygiene requirements.

Wear resistant option: Inner wall can be fitted with PU or ceramic wear resistant lining according to process conditions for extended service life.

Moderate flow resistance: Simple construction, low pressure drop and low energy consumption. Free of material accumulation dead spots: Smooth inner surfaces reduce starch caking and cross contamination.
