Description: Core mechanical components for supporting rotating shafts, reducing rotational friction and constraining radial / axial shaft displacement. Common wearing spares for vibrating screens, centrifuges, fans, conveyors and pump units.
1. Shaft support: Withstand radial loads, axial loads or combined compound loads acting on shafts.
2. Friction reduction: Convert sliding friction between shaft and housing into rolling friction to lower power consumption.
3. Rotational precision: Restrict shaft position for smooth rotation, minimise vibration and shaft offset.
1. Rolling Bearings (Widely Used for Industrial Equipment)
Fitted with rolling elements (steel balls, rollers). Construction consists of inner ring, outer ring, rolling elements and cage. Most variants support grease re lubrication.
Common sub types:
1). Deep groove ball bearings (e.g. 6205, 6308): Carry radial loads plus minor axial loads; applied for fans, motors and conveyor rollers.
2). Self aligning roller bearings (vibrating screen dedicated, 222 series, 223 series): Heavy duty, impact resistant with self aligning capability; preferred bearing for vibrator assemblies of vibrating screens.
3). Tapered roller bearings: Capable of sustaining large combined radial and axial loads; used for reducers and belt pulleys.
4). Angular contact ball bearings: Handle combined radial axial loads; for high speed centrifuge main shafts.
5). Cylindrical roller bearings: High radial load capacity; applied for horizontal decanter centrifuge drums.
2. Sliding Bearings
Bush type construction without rolling elements. Lubrication is realised by oil formed fluid film. Mainly deployed for heavy duty low speed service or large size main shafts.
Rolling elements, inner / outer rings: high carbon chromium bearing steel (GCr15)
Cage: stamped steel plate, brass, nylon
For special corrosion resistant starch food service conditions: stainless steel bearings
1. Grease lubrication: Used for most vibrating screens and fans; requires periodic re greasing.
2. Oil lubrication (circulating thin oil): Applied for high speed centrifuges and gear reducers.
