Description: Core main assembly for ultrafine mills. Integrated unit made up of main spindle, hard-alloy rotating grinding disc, stationary grinding disc, grinding-chamber liners and cavity-sealing components. It is the central unit performing ultrafine pulverization of starch feedstock.
Grinding-head assembly includes spindle unit, rotating hard-alloy grinding disc, stationary grinding disc, grinding-chamber liners, base cavity housing, spindle mechanical-seal and cooling jacket.
• All material-contact components are 316L stainless-steel; grinding-disc working-surfaces feature hard-alloy hard-facing.
• Rotating grinding-disc is fixed to spindle upper end and rotates at high-speed together with spindle; stationary-disc and liners are fastened onto cavity housing.
• Spindle end is fitted with dedicated powder-service mechanical-seal, preventing starch-dust ingress into bearings. Optional water-cooling jacket controls grinding temperature rise and inhibits starch gelatinisation.
Modified-starch is fed into grinding-head centre by feed-screw conveyor. High-speed-rotating grinding-disc generates strong centrifugal force throwing material into inter-tooth gaps between the rotating and stationary grinding discs. Ultrafine comminution is achieved via impact, shearing and inter-particle collision. Pulverized powder is carried upward by rising airflow into classifier-wheel for classification. Coarse particles fall back into grinding-zone for repeated re-grinding. Finished-product particle-size is adjusted by changing grinding-disc clearance and main-unit rotational speed.
1. Performs dry-type ultrafine pulverization for modified-starch, acting as core working unit of main mill.
2. Chamber liners protect outer housing; hard-alloy grinding-disc delivers highly wear-resistant comminution working surfaces.
3. Equipped with mechanical-seal for powder isolation; protects spindle bearings and prevents dust leakage.
4. Cavity-cooling construction limits grinding-process temperature rise and avoids heat-induced starch gelatinisation and caking.
5. Modular layout facilitates disassembly and replacement of consumable parts including grinding discs and liners.
