Description: Also known as end-face seal. Precision dynamic sealing assembly for rotating-equipment shaft ends. Seals clearance points where shafts penetrate equipment housings; prevents internal-process-medium leakage and blocks ingress of external contaminants into equipment interior.
Consists of rotating ring, stationary ring, elastic compensating elements (spring / bellows), auxiliary sealing O-rings, gland plate, anti-rotation pin and shaft sleeve. Rotating ring spins synchronously with main spindle; stationary ring is fixed to housing gland. Precision-lapped end-faces of rotating-ring / stationary-ring form the primary friction-pair sealing surface. Springs supply axial clamping pre-load. Auxiliary O-rings perform static sealing to stop leakage at sleeve and gland interfaces.
Combined medium-pressure and spring pre-load keeps rotating-ring and stationary-ring end-faces in constant contact. An ultra-thin micron-scale lubricating fluid film forms between mating end-faces, providing both lubrication and cooling for friction-pair while preventing medium leakage. When sealing faces wear, springs deliver automatic axial compensation to sustain end-face contact and preserve sealing performance.
