Screen Clamping Strip

Description: The screen clamping strip (also called screen pressing strip, edge pressing strip or clamping strip) is a long strip accessory on the screen frame of a vibrating screen, used to press and fix the screen mesh. It is one of the most commonly used wearing parts of screening equipment.

I. Main Functions

1. Tensioning and fixing the screen mesh: It presses the edge of the screen mesh and locks it taut onto the screen frame, preventing the screen mesh from loosening, bulging, shifting or tearing during vibration.

2. Sealing to prevent material leakage: It fills the gap between the screen mesh and the screen frame, preventing fine material from leaking through the side gaps and causing powder loss, thus ensuring screening accuracy.

3. Shock absorption and cushioning: Rubber/polyurethane clamping strips absorb vibration and impact, reduce hard friction between the screen mesh and the metal screen frame, and extend the service life of the screen mesh.

4. Distributed clamping force: When the bolts are tightened, the pressure is distributed evenly along the entire clamping strip, so that no single point can damage the screen mesh.

II. Common Types and Cross-sectional Forms

1. Metal clamping strip (steel clamping strip): Flat steel strip with bolt holes, mostly used for metal woven screens and heavy-duty vibrating screens in mining;

2. Rubber clamping strip (C-type/U-type clamping strip): The most common type; it has a slotted design, snaps into the edge of the screen frame and provides its own elasticity;

3. Silicone clamping strips: Used in food-grade, starch and pharmaceutical production lines for swing screens and rotary vibrating screens; resistant to high temperature and corrosion.

4. Polyurethane clamping strips: Excellent wear resistance, preferred for mining and sand and gravel production lines;

5. Split type: Longitudinal clamping strip, end clamping strip and intermediate (waist) clamping strip; a waist strip is added in the middle of a long screen mesh to prevent the center of the screen surface from bulging and sagging.
