Explosion Vent

Description: Safety pressure‑relief device for dust‑removal and powder‑processing equipment. Mainly fitted for bag‑house filters, cyclone separators and storage silos. When internal dust‑explosion overpressure occurs, the vent opens rapidly at pre‑set pressure to discharge explosion shock‑waves and high‑temperature flue‑gas. It protects equipment housings from rupture and mitigates personnel‑injury risk as well as secondary‑explosion hazards.

Working principlePassive purely-mechanical hardware requiring no power supply. When internal overpressure reaches static burst pressure pstat.

The rupture-diaphragm bursts or cover plate opens for instantaneous release of explosion energy. Diaphragm-type (rupture disc): Single-shot action.

After activation, the diaphragm tears; equipment must be shut-down and fitted with a brand-new diaphragm before resuming operation.

Gravity-hinge resettable-type: Cover opens under overpressure and automatically re-seats by dead-weight after pressure drops.

Permitting repeated use. Structural composition. - Explosion-vent diaphragm/cover plate: Aluminum-alloy or stainless-steel composite plate with scored weakening grooves to guarantee accurate burst-opening pressure.- Flange base: Bolted connection to dust-collector housing.- Sealing gaskets: stop air leakage under normal equipment-operating status.- Optional accessories: Explosion-vent duct.

Flame arrester explosion-vent position-feedback switch. Key technical parameters (Dust-Removal Industry Standard)- Static opening pressurePstat: 01–0.02MPa (10–20kPa)- Circular/rectangular.

Dimensions customizable according to required venting area- Material: Aluminum-alloy 304 stainless-steel- Operating temperature: -20℃ ~ +80℃- Applicable standards: GB15605–2024.

EN14797 NFPA68- Mounting position: Dust-collector top/side-wall vent openings; must not face personnel walkways.

Classification & 1. Diaphragm-type rupture-vent (disposable): Fast response, high venting efficiency; must be replaced after explosion activation.

Most-common option for dust-collector applications. Gravity-hinge resettable explosion vent: Automatically resets post-explosion-relief for repeated service.

Suited for pulverized-coal pipelines and silos; note that accumulated dust may impair actuation sensitivity. Flame-less explosion-vent assembly: Specified for indoor installation.

Extinguishes flame during pressure-relief so no flame jet propagates outside the building.- Pulse-jet bag-house & cartridge dust collectors (handling combustible powders including corn-starch dust.

Citric-acid dust).- Cyclone separators raw-material silos dust-conveying pipelines.- Grain-processing chemical-processing & feed-processing production lines with dust-explosion hazard potential.

Usage Precautions

1. Explosion-vent outlet shall never point directly toward personnel, equipment or operational walkways.

Diaphragm surface must remain unpainted, free of impact damage and dust accumulation; otherwise burst-pressure characteristics will shift.

Once a diaphragm-type unit has actuated, full replacement is mandatory; repair or reuse is prohibited. For gravity-resettable types: Schedule regular cleaning of dust deposits on cover plates to reduce jamming-induced failure-to-open.

Vent area shall be calculated according to dust-explosion indices; physical size must not be arbitrarily reduced.
