PTFE Agitator Shaft Sleeve

Description: PTFE sleeves are protective bushings for the reactor agitator shaft. Fitted over the agitator shaft, they are mostly used at double-mechanical-seal locations, generally made of PTFE/F46, isolating the reaction medium, protecting the agitator shaft, and serving as the running face for the mechanical-seal rotating ring.

Main Functions

Protect the main shaft: isolate the agitator shaft from sorbitol syrup and weak-alkali media, preventing direct corrosion. If the sleeve is damaged, simply replace the sleeve, protecting the costly agitator shaft.

Mechanical-seal mating surface: the outer diameter serves as the assembly and running face of the double-seal rotating ring, ensuring proper seal-face fit.

Medium barrier: reduces material and crystals entering the mechanical-seal cavity and lowers the risk of the seal being scored by particles.

Structural Materials

Cylindrical, made of PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) / F46 (perfluorinated ethylene propylene); static sealing between sleeve and agitator shaft is by an O-ring, with an anti-rotation feature to stop the sleeve slipping and turning with the seal. Food-grade material meets sorbitol-production hygiene requirements.
