Description: Installed at the head and return sections of the belt conveyor, the cleaner scrapes off corn kernels, corn dust, and fine debris adhering to the belt surface, preventing material from being carried into the return idlers and pulleys and avoiding belt misalignment, idler jamming, and material spillage. It is an essential accessory for corn belt conveyors in starch plants and grain depots.
Installation Location: At the head drive pulley, below the discharge point, the first cleaning stage. Structure: steel crossbeam + segmented polyurethane scraper blades + automatic spring-tensioning mechanism. Function: removes most residual corn pieces and bran dust from the belt, performing over 80% of total cleaning work. Advantages: segmented polyurethane blades yield elastically to belt splices and hard objects, avoiding damage to rubber/PVC belts; the spring maintains constant pressure, automatically compensating for blade wear and reducing manual adjustment.
For grain service, polyurethane blades are preferred; alloy blades are not recommended as they can easily cut the belt. Compatible belts: 500–1200 mm, suited to corn conveyor belt machines.
Installation location: Downstream of the primary cleaner, on the return carrying face after the belt leaves the head pulley. Function: removes fine corn dust and debris left by the primary cleaner for deep cleaning. Advantages: further reduces carryback, minimizes floor spillage, and improves the dusty environment.
For high-yield corn main conveyors, a primary + secondary cleaner combination is recommended.
Installation location: Non-carrying face of the return belt (belt back). Structure: V-shaped rubber/polyurethane scraper. Function: cleans corn kernels that fall from above and stick to the belt back, preventing kernels from being drawn into the tail pulley and causing belt tears and bulges.
Install an empty-section cleaner at the tail of every belt conveyor.
Scraper (blade): high-wear-resistant polyurethane (PU) for grain service, Shore hardness 85–92 A, wear-resistant, belt-friendly, segmented so a single damaged blade is replaceable without changing the whole set.
Crossbeam bracket: carbon steel, painted/hot-dip galvanized, spanning the full belt width.
Spring-tensioning assembly: maintains blade contact pressure; automatically compensates for blade wear, avoiding excessive pressure that cuts the belt or insufficient pressure that leaves it unclean.
Reduce corn carryback and spillage, lowering on-site manual cleaning and grain loss;
Protect pulleys and idlers from trapped material that causes misalignment, wear, and tearing, extending belt and idler life;
Lower workshop dust, improving the production environment at starch plants and grain depots.
