Chain & Sprocket

Description: The chain-and-sprocket set is the core traction and transmission component of en-masse (buried scraper) conveyors and bucket elevators, widely used for closed conveying and lifting of raw corn. The sprocket drives the chain in a continuous loop; scrapers/buckets mounted on the chain move corn kernels to complete transfer. Mostly used in closed conveying systems at starch plants and grain depots. Compared with belt conveying, it is enclosed with no dust escape and supports multi-point feed and discharge.

Chain

1. Welded Bent-Plate Conveyor Chain (most common in grain & oil) Bent-plate links, sleeves, and pins; scrapers can be welded on.

40Cr alloy steel, fully heat-treated, compatible with TGSS-series en-masse conveyors. Cost-effective, grain-dust resistant, easy to disassemble and maintain.

Suited to horizontal/small-incline corn conveying; common pitches 80, 100, 125, 160mm. En-masse conveyors in starch workshops and grain depots, 50–200 t/h raw corn.

Die-Forged Detachable Chain (heavy-duty, high capacity) Integrally die-forged chain bars connected by pins; high strength and impact resistance.

Individual links can be detached and replaced without replacing the whole chain. High breaking load, dust-resistant, wear- and impact-resistant.

Suited to high-capacity main-line en-masse conveyors; long life under harsh dusty conditions. Large grain depots and main corn-receiving lines, 200–400 t/h.

Sleeve-Roller Conveyor Chain (bucket elevators, light-duty scrapers) Inner/outer plates, sleeves, pins, rollers.

Rollers engage the sprocket teeth in rolling contact, giving low friction. Smooth engagement, low wear, suited to vertical corn lifting in bucket elevators.

Bucket elevators, small- and medium-sized scraper conveyors. Chain Selection Safety Rule: Minimum chain breaking load ≥ actual maximum traction force × safety factor 5-to-8. This mandatory safety margin stop unexpected chain fracture in grain-handling service.

Sprocket (Drive Sprocket + Tension Sprocket) Drive sprocket (driving connected to reducer output shaft) and tail tension sprocket (driven.

Adjusts chain tension); material 45# steel or alloy steel, tooth surface hardened for wear life; tooth count commonly 10–13.

Which must exactly match the chain pitch—mismatch causes tooth skipping accelerated wear and chain breakage.

Function:.

Drive sprocket: transmits reducer torque to the chain, driving scrapers in a loop to convey corn. Tail tension sprocket: adjusts chain tension, compensating for long-term chain elongation and stop tooth skipping and derailment.

Grain-service conditions: sprocket teeth surface hardened to HRC 45–52; available as integral or split type; split type is replaceable without shaft removal, simplifying field maintenance.
