Centrifugal Pump Front Bearing - Sorbitol

Description: Rotor-support wear part for centrifugal pumps, housed in the pump front-end bearing bracket. Supports the impeller end of the pump shaft; takes radial loads and partial axial thrust on certain constructions.

Main Functions

Supports the front end of the pump shaft, constrains rotor radial position and maintains the designed sealing clearance between impeller and pump casing to eliminate rotor-to-casing rubbing contact. Reduces rotational friction; enables stable high-speed rotor operation with lower vibration and noise. Absorbs radial loads originating from the impeller and shares partial axial thrust, protecting shaft seals and impeller assemblies.

Structural Form & General Materials

Common types: deep-groove ball bearings, cylindrical-roller bearings. Standard service: chrome-steel inner and outer rings and rolling elements; cages in steel plate or nylon. Stainless-steel bearings selected for corrosive high-temperature conditions. Lubricated by grease or circulating oil.
