Description: Worm-gear (worm-wheel) output-shaft bearing, fitted in pairs on both sides of the worm gear. Supports the worm-gear output shaft, bears radial loads and axial thrust from worm-gear meshing. Restricts radial run-out and axial shaft end-play; guarantees correct worm-gear meshing. Key reducer wear part.
Types & Form. Medium-heavy-duty units: Tapered-roller bearings (paired installation; withstand high combined radial-axial loads.
Adjustable preload to control worm-gear axial end-play). Light-duty small-size units: Deep-groove ball bearings.
Large heavy-duty frames may adopt self-aligning roller bearings.
Layout: One bearing close to the worm gear, the other near the output-shaft oil seal; positioned by shaft shoulders, end covers and retaining rings.
Functions
1. Supports output shaft and reduces rotational friction loss. Takes radial loads and axial thrust from worm-gear meshing and restricts shaft end-play.worm-gear meshing clearance.
Stop offset loading and uneven wear. Resists cantilever bending loads applied by sprockets or pulleys.
Materials Inner ring, outer ring and rolling elements: bearing steel.
Cages: nylon or steel plate.
