Worm Gear Reducer Input Shaft Bearing

Description: Rotary-support wear part. Mounted at both ends of reducer input shaft to support input worm shaft; bears radial loads plus partial axial thrust.

Main Functions

Supports input worm shaft, reduces rotational friction and ensures smooth shaft rotation. Restricts radial shaft displacement, controls shaft run-out and prevents offset meshing load on the worm-gear set. Carries radial forces and axial thrust generated during power transmission to secure proper worm-gear meshing.

Structural Form & General Materials

Mainly rolling-element bearings (deep-groove ball bearings, angular-contact ball bearings). Inner ring, outer ring and rolling elements are bearing steel; cages are nylon or steel plate. Paired mounting configuration for bidirectional axial-load capacity.

Operating Notes

Shut down equipment and cut power before disassembly or inspection. Inspect bearing raceways and rolling elements for pitting before assembly. Fill with lubricant of the correct grade. Guarantee coaxiality during installation; never force-fit by hammer blows. Control assembly preload; avoid over-preload-induced overheating or shaft end-play caused by excessive clearance.
