FMCW Radar Level Gauge

Description: WP-RD204 frequency-modulated continuous-wave radar level gauge for non-contact material-level measurement inside tanks.

Select Product

Working principle of frequency-modulated continuous-wave radar level gauge: The radar transmits electromagnetic waves at the tank top.

After being reflected by the medium surface, electromagnetic waves are received by the radar. The frequency difference Δƒ between received signal and transmitted signal is proportional to distance R from medium surface:R = C × Δƒ ÷ 2 ÷ KWhere: C = velocity of light.

Δƒ = frequency difference; K = modulation slope. Since speed of light C and modulation slope K are known distance R from radar to material surface can be obtained by calculating frequency difference Δƒ.

Then subtract the empty-height spatial distance from radar to material surface from total tank height to get material-level height.

Millimetre-wave radar: measurement accuracy up to ±1mm.

Minimum dead-zone: 1m. Smaller antenna size measurement under more working-condition scenarios. Multiple lens-type antennas: small emission angle, concentrated energy and stronger echo signals.

Delivers higher reliability under identical working-conditions compared with other radar products. Stronger penetration performance.

Can work normally even with surface adhesion or condensation. Wider dynamic signal range; measurement for low-dielectric-constant media.

Multiple measurement modes are available; radar response time less than 1 s under fast-measurement mode.
