In chemical and pharmaceutical processes, agitator bearings, shaft seals and valves inside reactors operate continuously under high temperature, high pressure, strong acid alkali or organic solvent environments. Conventional lubricating oil tends to leak or degrade; therefore Special purpose grease is required for reliable equipment performance.

Core functions:

1. Lubrication & Friction Reduction: Forms durable oil film over metal friction surfaces, lowering wear on agitator shafts, bearings and gears for smoother machine operation.

2. Sealing & Leakage Prevention: Fills clearances of shaft seals and valve stems. Blocks ingress of moisture, dust and aggressive media, while stopping reactor internal material / gas outward leakage.

3. Rust & Corrosion Protection: Anti corrosion additives protect Stainless steel, Hastelloy and other vessel alloys, resisting pitting and stress corrosion cracking and prolonging equipment lifetime.

4. high temperature & Low Volatility: premium grade PFPE (Perfluoropolyether) grease delivers extremely low evaporation loss within 150–280 °C, avoiding contamination of reactants or vacuum systems.

Selection Guidelines

1. Conventional reactors: Composite lithium base grease. Good high temperature resistance, water spray resistance and mechanical stability for General Purpose working conditions.

2. Highly corrosive, high temperature / high pressure or vacuum service: Select PFPE base special grease. Chemically inert, barely reacts with strong acid, strong alkali or oxidizing agents and will not contaminate process products.

Application note: Apply thin uniform coating onto bearing contact surfaces. Over greasing shall be avoided; excess grease may volatilize under high temperature and degrade product purity. After assembly, run unit at low speed for 30–60 min to distribute grease evenly.
