Induced Draft Fan

Description: Ventilation equipment generating negative pressure suction by impeller rotation to extract flue gas or air from process systems. Commonly deployed in boilers, factories and tunnels. Usually mounted at system terminals to extract hot flue gas from furnaces and feed gas to chimneys or dust removal & desulfurization systems.

Description assembly includes impeller, housing, air inlet and transmission components, coupled with direct drive motor.

Fans are manufactured in clockwise rotation (righthand) and counterclockwise rotation (lefthand) versions. Viewed from the motor end: clockwise impeller rotation = righthand fan.

Counterclockwise rotation = lefthand fan. Impellers are fabricated from steel plate assembled with backward curved arc thin plate blades.

Curved front plate and flat rear plate. All impellers pass static and dynamic balancing test for superior aerodynamic performance.

High efficiency low noise and smooth operation. Principle Negative pressure suction: Motor drives high speed impeller rotation.

Negative pressure forms at impeller centre pulling inlet gas inward under atmospheric pressure to continuous gas intake & exhaust.

Energy conversion: flue gas obtains kinetic energy passing through the impeller. Guide vanes and diffuser convert most kinetic energy into static pressure energy to overcome pipeline resistance.

Regulation method: Large size induced draft fans (e.g. adjustable blade axial flow fans) adjust air volume & pressure by hydraulic driven blade angle modification to match variable loads.

Classification.

By structure: Centrifugal type for high pressure/low flow conditions; axial flow type (especially adjustable blade models) for high flow/low pressure scenarios.

By material: Carbon steel for Purpose conditions; FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic) for chemical/electroplating corrosive gas environments with good acid alkali resistance.

High temperature alloy or ceramic coated impellers for hot flue gas applications.

Selection Calculations shall be based on air volume, air pressure, medium temperature and dust content. Insufficient air volume causes incomplete drying.

Excessive air volume increases heat loss and power consumption. variable frequency speed control can deliver 15–20 % energy saving.
