Circulating Pump Impeller

Description: Core wear‑prone rotating spare for corn steep‑tank circulation pumps, used for inter‑tank transportation of sulfurous‑acid steep liquor.

Select Product

Application Rotary power-transfer component of steep-circulation pumps. It drives sulfurous-acid steep-liquor circulation across steep-tank battery.

Accomplishing liquor transfer and inter-tank displacement evening-out sulfur-dioxide concentration and temperature across tank groups.

Medium carries fine corn debris and protein suspended solids, making impeller a high-frequency consumable spare.

Impeller corrosion/wear sharply degrades pump flow-rate and head resulting in insufficient steep-liquor circulation and uneven corn steeping.

Structural compositionMonolithic cast/forged assembly incorporating blades, hub, keyway and locating-mating faces.

Semi-open impeller geometry is standard for corn-steeping duties; generously-sized flow-passages resist blockage from corn fines and protein flocs.

Hub keyway interfaces with pump shaft; torque is transmitted via drive-key. Working principleMotor-driven pump-shaft spins the impeller at high rotational velocity.

Blades apply centrifugal acceleration to steep-liquor medium converting mechanical energy into fluid pressure and kinetic energy to deliver high-volume steep-liquor circulation.

Semi-open wide passages permit passage of minor solid-particle loading and mitigate clogging risk matching steep-process conditions with trace suspended solids.

Operating Conditions & Material Requirements.

Transported medium: Sulfurous-acid steep liquor containing fine corn particulates and protein suspensions; mildly corrosive with particle-erosion loading.

Medium temperature: 48–52℃. Service characteristics: combined corrosion plus mild particulate abrasive wear.

Material: Cast 316L stainless steel. 304 stainless steel is strictly prohibited, prone to pitting perforation under long-term sulfurous-acid exposure.

Impeller geometry: Semi-open impeller with wide anti-clog flow channels.

Surface finish: Flow-passage polishing to minimize protein fouling and facilitate CIP cleaning. Interchange requirement: Keyway dimensions, outer impeller diameter and blade profile must match original pump hydraulic model.

Arbitrary impeller substitution alters pump flow-rate/head performance parameters.has

1. Semi-open wide-flow-passage geometry resists clogging caused by corn fines and protein flocs for steep-liquor service with trace solids.

Cast 316L stainless steel delivers sulfurous-acid corrosion resistance together with particulate-erosion tolerance.

Polished flow-passages reduce material fouling and lower cleaning burden. Hydraulic profile perfectly matched to pump casing to preserve rated circulating-pump flow-rate and head and satisfy steep-tank-battery circulation-process volumetric requirements.

High-precision keyway machining guarantees smooth torque transmission and minimized vibration.
