Description: Belt misalignment switches are essential safety-protection components for belt conveyors, installed in pairs on both sides of the belt to monitor misalignment in real time and prevent corn spillage, belt-edge tearing, and wear. Widely used in corn belt-conveyor systems at starch plants and grain depots.
Working principleThe unit incorporates a freely-rotatable stainless-steel vertical sensing roller. During normal running the roller stays vertical and does not actuate.
Stage 1 (pre-alarm): slight belt deviation pushes the roller to deflect 12–15°, issuing an alarm signal; the central control system sounds a visual/audible alarm to alert the operator—without stopping the equipment.
Stage 2 (trip protection): if misalignment worsens and the roller deflects 25–30° a stop signal is output to halt the conveyor directly.
Stop severe belt damage and heavy on-site corn spillage. Once the fault is cleared and the belt re-centered, the switch auto-resets—no manual reset needed.
Structural compositionVertical (sensing) roller: stainless steel with built-in bearing free-rotating on belt contact to reduce wear.
Housing: die-cast aluminum alloy, dustproof, corn-dust resistant, moisture-proof; grain-service protection rating IP65–IP 67. Internal micro switches: 2 independent dry contacts—one for alarm, one for trip.
Mounting brackets: matching angle-iron brackets fixed to both sides of the conveyor frame. Two-stage protection: minor deviation only alarms, reduce needless stops and continuous corn flow.
Well-sealed housing, suited to heavy corn-dust environments such as starch workshops and grain depots; Dry contact (passive) output, compatible with PLC central-control systems.
Simple, maintenance-free; Auto-reset after fault clearance, simple maintenance.
